
Wolverines Host Michigan State to Open Fall Slate

BELLEVILLE, Mich. -- The University of Michigan rowing team kicked off the 2010-11 season with a fall scrimmage against Michigan State on Sunday (Sept. 19) at Belleville Lake.
The Wolverines boated two even top eights and also a C and D eight. The Spartans boated three eights with two top even eights and a C eight. The teams raced in two pieces with the first piece being a head-style race, which was 2.25 miles in length at a 22-stroke rate. Following the head races, the teams did three six-minute pieces, with the first one at a 22-stroke rate, followed by a 24-stroke rate and concluding with a 26-stroke rate.
The Wolverines will race next on Sunday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Ohio State for a scrimmage. U-M will go the Head of the Leelanau on Oct. 17 before returning home to host the Belleville Classic on Nov. 13.
