
Biondi Swipes Pair of National Rookie Honors

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Freshman outfielder Patrick Biondi (Woodhaven, Mich./Divine Child) of the University of Michigan baseball team was named to the Pro-Line Athletic NCBWA and Ping! Baseball Freshman All-America second teams on Monday (June 14). The accolades are his second and third of the season, going along with being tabbed a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Magazine on June 9.
Penned in the leadoff spot for all 57 games, Biondi got the Wolverines on the board with 21 runs in the first inning during his rookie campaign. A .323 hitter, Biondi established U-M rookie records with 29 stolen bases and 69 runs.
In addition to the three Freshman All-America awards, Biondi was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.
