Wolverines to Host Four Events this Fall

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team announced Wednesday (Aug. 25) a series of events taking place this fall, beginning with the fifth-annual alumni tailgate and awards ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The tailgate event will take place at the Wilpon Baseball Complex, home of historic Ray Fisher Stadium, and is free to all U-M baseball alumni, their guests, and members of the Dugout Club. It is open to the public for a $20 fee. The event begins two-and-a-half hours prior to Michigan's football game versus Bowling Green. The team will hand out awards from the 2010 season at the tailgate event.
The following day (Sept. 26), the baseball program will host its ninth-annual golf outing at the U-M Golf Course. The outing is open to the public, but space is limited, with reservations due by September 12. The format is a four-person scramble with an 8:30 a.m. check-in with breakfast before the 10 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee of $130 per person or $500 for a foursome and includes green fees, cart, on-course beverages, lunch and dinner. Prizes will be awarded and there will be a raffle after the outing. Proceeds benefit the U-M baseball team.
The annual U-M Scout Day will take place Monday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., at Ray Fisher Stadium. Major League scouts will get a chance to see the Wolverines take batting practice, check out their fielding, and time them in the 60-yard dash. There also will be a nine-inning game following the drills.
The team will wrap up fall practice with the annual Maize and Blue game on Sunday, Oct. 10, beginning at 11 a.m. Following the intrasquad contest, there will be a lunch reception at the Four Points by Sheraton in Ann Arbor, which is open to the public at a cost of $25 per person. The Four Points by Sheraton is located at 3200 Boardwalk Dr. in Ann Arbor.
