NCAA Tournament Notes
U-M is 9-3 in the NCAA championship game. Red Berenson is 2-1 with titles in 1996 and 1998.
Michigan is the first team in NCAA Tournament history to face four teams from the same conference. U-M beat WCHA teams Nebraska-Omaha and Colorado College in the West Regional. It then defeated North Dakota, the WCHA regular-season and playoff champion, in the Frozen Four semifinals. Michigan faced Minnesota-Duluth tonight.
Michigan is 50-27 in the NCAA Tournament. The 50 wins are tied with Minnesota for the most in NCAA history.
Sophomore Jeff Rohrkemper scored his first NCAA Tournament goal. He has four goals in his 32 career games.
U-M is now 6-10 in overtime in NCAA Tournament games, 3-6 at the Frozen Four in OT, and 2-2 in national title games in extra time.
Series Notes
Michigan faced Minnesota-Duluth for just the second time in the last 30 years and the first time since Oct. 13, 2001.
U-M leads the series at 23-18-1.

Senior Ben Winnett has scored in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. He has 21 goals in 155 games.

Jon Merrill is tied for fourth all-time for points by a U-M freshman defenseman. He has seven goals and added his 18th assist of the season tonight.
