The Counter Attack with Betsey Armstrong 
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan water polo standout Betsey Armstrong (2002-05) was recently featured on an episode of The Counter Attack with Greg Mescall.
The Counter Attack is the official USA Water Polo national podcast featuring interviews, commentary and news all about water polo in the United States.
As a professional, Armstrong was named to the tournament all-star team, anchoring Team USA's defense during their gold-medal run at the 2011 FINA World League Super Final in Tianjin, China. It was her second all-tournament team selection after claiming the honor in 2010 when she was named FINA Aquatics World Magazine Female Water Polo Player of the Year.
During her stint with the Maize and Blue from 2002-05, Armstrong was two-time AWPCA All-America (2004-05) while receiving honorable mention in 2002 and 2003. She claimed four CWPA All-Division first team (2002-05) selections and received CWPA Division MVP in 2003 and 2004.
In addition to her numerous honors and awards during her collegiate career, she finished as U-M's career leader in blocks (1,267), minutes (3,329), goals-against average (5.64) and save percentage (.654).
She also holds the record in saves (350) in 2004, including the most saves in a match with 24 against Indiana on March 6, 2004.
