QUOTES
Michigan Head Coach Cheryl Stacy
On being in a position to win the tournament after the first day ... "We haven't been in that position for a while, so it's exciting and it's a lot of fun to see some of our girls at the top individually. There's a little more pressure being at home, and wanting to win that tournament. But, we're looking forward to it. I think everyone's super excited. Just playing our own golf course and having family and friends here has been a lot of fun for the girls."
On the team/field persevering through the difficult conditions ... "Playing 36 holes is tough anyway, but when you have weather on top of it, mentally you're not even sure if you're going to keep playing. It's a tough grind and they did a great job."
On what U-M needs to focus on tomorrow ... "I think just staying in the moment. Hitting one shot at a time, and you can't get ahead of yourself with the holes ahead. I think that's the key to golf."
U-M Sophomore Lauren Grogan
On the mental challenge of playing in bad weather ... "Keeping everything dry was a big thing. It was more of a nuisance than anything. Rain is nothing new to us. We've played in it. We should be pretty comfortable with it. We just have to make sure we keep our concentration."
On what to focus on tomorrow to win ... "Just playing my own game, one shot at a time. Making sure I have confidence and trust every shot and just worry about what I can control, and the weather is not something I can control. I just have to focus on my own game."
On what the team must do in the final round ... "I think we just need to have confidence. We know this course because we play it so often. Everyone can put up a good score. We have a good team and everyone just needs to be confident and trust what they're doing because everyone knows how to play it."
