• Notre Dame scored once in the second period and twice in the third stanza to defeat Michigan, 3-1, in the championship game of the 2013 CCHA Tournament at Joe Louis Arena.
• Freshman forward Andrew Copp, freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba and freshman goaltender Steve Racine were named to the CCHA All-Tournament Team.
• U-M has compiled a 29-15 all-time record at Joe Louis Arena in the CCHA Tournament, including a 9-9 mark in the championship game.
• Michigan was unable to defeat Notre Dame in five games this season. The Irish claimed two victories Nov. 15-16 at Yost Ice Arena and another two at home Feb. 8-9 during the regular season.
• The Wolverines suffered their first loss since falling 6-4 at Notre Dame on Feb. 9. Michigan had an 8-0-1 mark until today's setback in the championship tilt.
• Michigan scored the game's first goal on a short-handed goal by junior forward Derek DeBlois at 19:00 of the first period. It was DeBlois team-leading third shorthanded tally of the season. He also scored against Michigan State on Feb. 2 at JLA and at Notre Dame on Feb. 8 on the penalty kill.
• Freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba and Travis Lynch assisted on the DeBlois goal.
• Trouba collected his 17th assist of the season. He is the leading scorer among CCHA defensemen with 29 points (12g, 17a) this season.
• Sophomore forward Travis Lynch picked up his eighth point of the season with the helper on DeBlois goal. Lynch has three goals and five assists in 39 games of action.
• It was the second straight game that the Wolverines scored the game's first goal on the penalty kill. Yesterday, Andrew Copp scored a short-handed tally in the second period against Miami (Ohio).
• This was the third straight game that the Wolverines have tallied a shorty at Joe Louis Arena.
• Steve Racine stopped 30 of 33 shots on goal by the Irish.
• The Wolverines stopped all four power plays for the Irish, including one where two U-M players were without sticks. They also stopped a 5-on-3 opportunity for 29 seconds and back-to-back extra-man chances for ND during the second frame.
• Michigan killed the opposition's power play on 23-of-24 power plays during the CCHA Tournament. The only goal came in the third period of yesterday's semifinal by Miami (Ohio).
• The Wolverines finished the season with an 18-19-3 overall record.
