ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team will host its lone home 2014 fall exhibition matchup Sunday (Oct. 12) against the Fairfield Stags at 3 p.m. from Michigan Stadium. The fall ball contest follows the annual U-M Alumni Game, which commences at noon.
Both events are open to the public, and admission is free.
"This program was built by the efforts and the commitment of our alums, most of whom played for the club team as far back as 1940," said head coach John Paul. "To be able to welcome them back, along with alums from our first three varsity teams who did so much to lay the foundation for what we are now, is special. Sunday will be great celebration of Michigan lacrosse."
The Wolverines are coming off a 1-1 record Oct. 4 in Annapolis, Md., where U-M knocked off UMBC, 11-10, in the first scrimmage of the day and followed up with a 9-6 loss to Navy in the second matchup. Sophomore Mikie Schlosser (Davis, Calif./Davis) had two goals and a pair of assists, while junior Kyle Jackson (Sarnia, Ontario/The Hill School) led the team in goals with a trio on the day.
The alumni game will feature nearly a dozen varsity alumni, headlined by 2012 Team MVP and Team One captain Trevor Yealy (2012). In total, more than 70 alums are slated to take part in the event.
