LANG TO RECEIVE NCAA SILVER ANNIVERSARY AWARD
On Jan. 16, former U-M swimmer Brent Lang (1987-90) will be honored with the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award at the NCAA Honors Celebration in National Harbor, Maryland. The award recognizes six distinguished former student-athletes on the 25th anniversary of the end of their intercollegiate athletics eligibility. At Michigan, Lang was a four-time NCAA champion and 12-time NCAA All-American. Following his sophomore season, Lang represented the United States at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, where he won a gold medal as part of the 400-meter freestyle relay. [ Release ]
BOSCH CRUISING
Junior Dylan Bosch has arguably been the Big Ten's best and most versatile swimmer this year. Among all Big Ten swimmers, he is ranked first in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM, is second in the 400-yard IM, third in the 500-yard freestyle and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle. Individually, he's already picked up one NCAA 'A' time and four NCAA 'B' times.

He is the 27th student from the University of Michigan to receive the prestigious academic honor since its inception in 1902 and only the third athlete, following James K. Watkins (1911 - football) and Alan Seager (1930 - swimming). He will begin courses at Oxford University in England later this year where he plans on pursuing a master's in computer science engineering in his first year and an MBA in his second year.
