With tonight's win, Michigan improved to 9-9-1 in the all-time series against UCLA, dating back to 1984.
Michigan also improved to 11-20 overall in its 11 appearances at the WCWS. It is only the second time in program history that the Wolverines claimed their first two world series games.
U-M has outscored its NCAA Tournament opposition, 60-18, over seven games.
Tonight's session attendance of 9,425 ranks as the third highest in WCWS history.
The Wolverines extended their win streak to 27 straight games. It is the second-longest win streak in Michigan program history, trailing only the 32-game win streak recorded by the 2005 Wolverines.
Michigan has posted double-digit hits in 26 games this season, including 25 of the last 51 games.
U-M's 15 hits against UCLA are the program's most ever in a WCWS game.
Junior Kelsey Susalla posted a career-best four hits. She had previously posted three hits on four occasions this season, including U-M's second NCAA Super Regional game vs. Georgia. Sophomore Abby Ramirez also posted a four-hit game this season at Rutgers (April 11).
Senior LHP Haylie Wagner improved to 98-17 over her four-year collegiate career. She moved to fourth among U-M's all-time wins leaders, sharing the spot with Jennie Ritter (2003-06). She also ranks third on U-M's career win percentage list with .852.
