Lommer, Patiuk Lead Michigan at Wildcat Invitational

» Michigan sent Chiara Lommer, Lera Patiuk and Bella Lorenzini to the three-day Wildcat Invitational.
» Lommer won the Blue Flight with a 3-0 singles record, while Patiuk finished third in the Red Flight with a 2-1 singles mark.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Sophomore Chiara Lommer went 3-0 in singles to win her flight and highlight the University of Michigan women's tennis team's time at the Wildcat Invitational (Sept. 29-Oct. 1).
Lommer did not drop a set on the weekend, reeling off three straight-set wins in singles to win her flight. Patiuk went 2-1 to finish third in her singles flight, while freshman Bella Lorenzini rebounded from a pair of three-set losses to win her final match of the tourney.
On the doubles court, Lommer and Lorenzini combined for a 2-1 mark. Patiuk and Lommer teamed up on the final day for a win, bringing Michigan's doubles record on the weekend to 3-1.
Michigan will send senior Alex Najarian and junior Kate Fahey to the ITA All-American next week (Oct. 5-8) in Pacific Palisades, California. The duo will compete in the doubles main draw, and Fahey will play in the singles main draw.
