The Wolverines were most dominant in the freestyles. Senior Paul Powers took down Minnesota's Bowen Becker in the 100-yard freestyle in a matchup of two of the conference's best. Those three also swam on Michigan's winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:19.37), with Powers splitting 19.80 on the leadoff leg. The fourth swimmer on that relay was graduate student James Peek, who recorded the fastest split of the night (19.50).
Sophomore Felix Auböck looked in midseason form, winning the 500-yard freestyle by more than five seconds (4:21.34). The Wolverines went 1-2-3, as freshman Ricardo Vargas (4:26.82) and senior PJ Ransfor (4:28.52) followed Auböck.
