
Eight Michigan Swimmers Selected for NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team will send eight individual qualifiers to the NCAA Championships, per an official announcement from the NCAA on Wednesday (March 8). The Championships will be held March 22-25 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.
The invited swimmers include senior Chris Klein; juniors Paul Powers, PJ Ransford and Evan White; and freshmen Felix Auböck, Jacob Montague, Miles Smachlo and Charlie Swanson.
Also expected to make the trip are four swimmers who have qualified as part of relays: sophomore Mokhtar Al-Yamani, freshman James Jones, senior Jack Mangan, and junior Tristan Sanders.

Michigan is tied with Texas for the most national championships of any school (12). The Wolverines have accumulated 64 top-10 finishes all-time at the NCAA Championships. They finished 12th at last season's meet in Atlanta, Georgia. The Longhorns enter the meet as the two-time defending champion.
ESPN3 will stream live the championship finals sessions Friday and Saturday. Tape-delayed coverage of the championships will be broadcast on ESPNU at 5 p.m. Eastern, April 5 for the men's championships. All sessions not streamed by ESPN will be streamed live on the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships microsite at www.indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd.
Divers will be added to the NCAA Championships following the results of the zone diving meets. Michigan's five divers will be at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, to be held Thursday to Saturday (March 9-11) at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Indiana. For men, Zone C is allocated five spots on one-meter and seven on both three-meter and platform.
