
Wolverines Tally Three Race Wins in Columbus

» No. 3 Michigan squared off with No. 4 Ohio State, No. 20 Duke and Notre Dame this weekend in Ohio, picking up wins against all three teams.
» The 2V8, 1V4, 3V4 and 2N8 boats earned wins at Griggs Reservoir near Columbus.
» U-M now enters a week free of competition before hosting Louisville for senior day the final weekend of April.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 3-ranked University of Michigan rowing team earned three victories and the second novice boat earned another in racing against top competition on Saturday (April 15).
It was another successful regatta for the Maize and Blue, marking the third straight weekend in which U-M raced against top-10 competition.
In the marquee matchup of the day, Michigan's first varsity eight boat took second place, crossing the finish line in 6:24.8 behind fourth-ranked OSU (6:20.0) and finishing five seconds ahead of No. 20 Duke (6:29.8).
U-M picked up wins in the 1V4, 3V4 and 2V8 races, while the first novice squad picked up another. It was a particularly strong performance for the 2V8 boat, which has only lost to No. 1 Washington so far in the month of April (4-1 overall).
The Maize and Blue finished the first varsity four race in 7:08.0 for a 2.7-second margin of victory over Ohio State and had an even bigger win in the third varsity four race, finishing in 7:28.6, +12.0 over OSU.
In the 2V8 finish, the Wolverines came in at 6:28.9, +3.1 over the Buckeyes.

U-M will resume action back home in Belleville, Michigan, on Saturday (April 29) at 9 a.m. vs. Louisville. Seniors will be honored after the races in the final regular-season event of the season.
