FOXBORO, Mass. -- Former University of Michigan men's lacrosse midfielder Mikie Schlosser was selected by the Denver Outlaws with the ninth pick of the sixth round (54th overall) of the 2017 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft Sunday (May 28).
Schlosser, a standout athlete and the team's top two-way midfielder, was one of only two Wolverines to be voted team captain as a junior and senior. As a senior he finished with 19 goals and 24 points, both of which marked career highs. He ranked third on the team in goals and fourth in points.
The Davis, California, native closed out his career No. 3 on the U-M career goals list with 48, and racked up numerous accolades for the Wolverines. He was most notably awarded the team FIST Award and was named a National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American this year. Additionally, he was deemed a Face-Off Yearbook preseason All-Big Ten member by Inside Lacrosse in 2016 and was an All-ECAC Rookie Team performer in 2014.
Schlosser joins Kyle Jackson as former Wolverines to be drafted into the league. Jackson was selected with the 57th overall selection in the 2017 MLL Supplemental Draft by the Boston Cannons.
