Notes
• Michigan is 34-4 in dual meets since the beginning of the 2014-15 season. It has won its last 25 dual meets against Big Ten opponents.
• Senior Catie DeLoof (Swimmer), sophomore Christy Cutshaw (Co-Diver) and Victoria Kwan (Freshman) earned the first batch of Big Ten weekly honors on Oct. 3. [ weekly awards ]
• The Wolverines are ranked No. 3 in the first CSCAA poll released last Wednesday (Oct. 10). [ Poll ]
• Among all Big Ten swimmers this season, DeLoof is ranked first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.65) and 100-yard freestyle (49.15). Freshman Maggie MacNeil (100-yard butterfly, 52.69) and senior Siobhán Haughey (200-yard freestyle, 1:47.11) are also atop their respective events. Other swimmers near the top of the Big Ten rankings include senior Yirong Bi (second in 1,000-yard freestyle, fourth in 500-yard freestyle), senior Jamie Yeung (third in the 100-yard breaststroke, sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke), junior Miranda Tucker (fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke) and Kwan (sixth in the 200-yard butterfly).
• MacNeil, a Canadian international, already ranks third nationally in the 100-yard butterfly. Her time against Oakland and Miami -- 52.69 – would have made the final at last year's Big Ten Championships. At the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in August, MacNeil won gold in the 100-meter butterfly and set a meet record (58.38).
• In the diving well, Cutshaw earned her NCAA Zone Diving qualifying scores on both one-meter (275.25) and three-meter (292.00) against Oakland and Miami on Sept. 28. Sophomore Nikki Canale got her qualifying score on one-meter only (296.00). [ diving bests ]
