Notes
• This weekend's meet will serve as an opportunity for the men's team to get familiar with the facility, as Iowa will host the Big Ten Championships later this year (Feb. 27-March 2, 2019). The Wolverines did the same thing in the 2014-15 season, going to Iowa for a dual meet in October before returning for the Big Ten Championships (and NCAA Championships) in February and March.
• Since 2007, Michigan is 93-6-1 in dual meets, going 58-3 against Big Ten opponents.
• Through two dual meets (with three opponents -- Miami, Oakland, Northwestern), Michigan has won all 32 events, including diving.
• The Wolverines continue to be ranked No. 6 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll, released last Wednesday (Oct. 24). [ Poll ]
• Sophomore Ricardo Vargas is ranked No. 2 nationally in the 500-yard freestyle (4:19.92) and No. 6 in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:01.70). Also in the top 10 are freshmen Patrick Callan (tied for seventh in the 200-yard freestyle; 1:37.07) and Will Chan (fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke; 53.69).
• All four divers -- Ross Todd, Jake Herremans, Chris Canning and Collin DeShaw – already have achieved their NCAA Zone Diving qualifying scores on both one- and three-meter. The divers will exhibition platform this weekend at Iowa. [ Diving Bests ]
