Wolverines Stay on the Road for No. 13 NC State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (5-1) continues its five-game swing away from Crisler Center, heading to No. 13-ranked North Carolina State (6-0) for the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Thursday (Nov. 28) from Kay Yow Court at James T. Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.
• Michigan is 8-3 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, after its four-game winning streak in the event was snapped last season by eventual national champion Notre Dame. The Wolverines are second in the Big Ten in Challenge wins with eight. Maryland leads the way with a 10-1 record, however, seven of those wins came as an ACC school.
• No. 13 NC State (6-0) is coming off a 2-0 weekend at the Cancun Challenge, earning NCAA Team of the Week honors after wins over Michigan State and George Washington. NC State features four double-figure scorers in Grace Hunter (14.8 ppg), Elissa Cunane (13.3 ppg), Kiara Leslie (13.3 ppg) and Aislinn Konig (12.8 ppg). The Wolfpack is averaging 75.2 points per game on 47.9 percent shooting while allowing 61.7 points per game on 35.6 percent shooting. The series between the two teams is tied at 1.Â
• Michigan has been balanced offensively this season, with four different players leading the team in scoring through six games. On the season, U-M has three players averaging double figures in Hallie Thome (15.8 ppg), Nicole Munger (11.8 ppg) and Naz Hillmon (11.3 ppg). In addition, three more players are averaging at least 7.8 ppg in Kayla Robbins (8.8 ppg), Amy Dilk (8.7 ppg) and Deja Church (7.8 ppg).
• Michigan is facing its third ranked opponent of the season in No. 13 NC State. U-M is 1-1 this season against top-25 opponents, knocking off No. 21 Missouri and falling to No. 10 Texas. Michigan's next game is also against a ranked team in No. 22 Marquette (Dec. 2). All four of these games are played away from Crisler Center.
• Michigan and NC State each feature some Canadian flavor on their respective teams. Sophomore Hailey Brown and NC State's Aislinn Konig teamed up to help Canada to the bronze medal at the 2017 U19 FIBA World Championships in the summer of 2017.
