No. 22 Michigan to Close Home Schedule Against No. 8 Ohio State

The 22nd-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (21-7, 10-5 B1G) will close out its home regular-season schedule by hosting eighth-ranked Ohio State (22-6, 13-2 B1G) on Sunday (Feb. 18). Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with the game broadcast on CBS. The match-up is the second this season between the teams; the Buckeyes rallied in the second half to win, 71-62, on Dec. 4 in Columbus, Ohio.
THE SERIES WITH OHIO STATE
• Sunday's game marks the 181st all-time meeting between Michigan and Ohio State.
• U-M trails in the all-time series, 103-77.
• The Wolverines hold a 47-38 advantage in Ann Arbor, but the Maize and Blue dropped the last meeting at Crisler Center, 70-66 (Feb. 4, 2017).
• Today's game will mark the eighth time since 2012 that Michigan and Ohio State have faced each other when both have been ranked, with the Wolverines holding the edge, 4-3. In the series overall, it will be the 14th all-time game with both teams ranked, and the Buckeyes hold a 7-6 advantage.
• U-M head coach John Beilein is 7-15 all-time against Ohio State.
EARLIER THIS SEASON AGAINST OSU
• Playing its 10th game in a 24-day span, Michigan saw a 20-point first-half lead evaporate and eventually was edged by Ohio State, 71-62, inside Value City Arena.
• U-M scored 43 first-half points, shooting 56.7 percent from the field, before posting just 19 in the second half while shooting 17.2 percent from the field.
• Moritz Wagner led U-M with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Zavier Simpson and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman added 11 points each.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
• Ohio State has a 22-6 overall record, including a 13-2 mark in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes are 5-1 in road games this season after suffering their first loss at Penn State, 79-56, on Thursday (Feb. 15).
• Four Buckeyes are scoring in double figures, led by Keita Bates-Diop, who is tied for the Big Ten lead in scoring at 19.6 points per game and ranks third in the league with 8.8 rebounds per contest. Jae'Sean Tate averages 12.5 points per game, C.J. Jackson adds 12.4 points per contest, and Kaleb Wesson is chipping in 11.0 points per game.
• Former Wolverine Andrew Dakich is a graduate transfer on the Ohio State roster and is averaging 3.3 points and 2.1 assists per game, having played in all 28 games for the Buckeyes. Dakich played in 49 career games at U-M.
• Chris Holtmann is in his first season as head coach at Ohio State. Holtmann joined the Buckeyes following three seasons as the head coach at Butler (2014-17), where he led the Bulldogs to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

• Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman has played in 126 consecutive games and made 54 straight starts.
• Duncan Robinson has played in 111 straight games dating back to his final nine games at Williams College. He has not missed a single game as a Wolverine -- 102 straight.
• Robinson's six made three-pointers against Iowa were the most since his first season with Michigan and against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 15, 2015) -- 2 years, 2 months and 3 days.
• When Robinson scores six or more points in a game this season, U-M is 18-0.
• Moritz Wagner has the most three-pointers (43) by any player in the nation 6-11 or taller.
• When Wagner records a double-double, U-M is a perfect 7-0.

HOW ABOUT THESE NUMBERS?
• U-M is 14-1 at home this season. The lone loss was a one-point setback against then No. 5/7 Purdue (Jan. 9), which sank a late free throw to escape with the win.
• Michigan's 82-72 win at then No. 4/4 Michigan State is the Spartans' lone loss at the Breslin Center (15-1). The Spartans are currently No. 1 is the USA Today Coaches poll and No. 2 in the Associated Press poll. The victory was just the third for U-M at the Breslin Center since 1998.
• U-M's 83-73 victory at Wisconsin was just its second win in the Kohl Center since 2000 (15 games). In fact, it was the Wolverines' third straight win over the Badgers.
• Michigan's regular-season sweep of Iowa is the first since 2011 and snapped a five-game losing streak in the series.
• The 74-59 victory over Iowa gives U-M its 21st victory of the season and adds to John Beilein's eighth 20-win season in 11 seasons. Eight 20-win seasons under Beilein are more than a quarter of U-M's 29 total 20-win campaigns in 102 years of playing basketball.
• Additionally, with the win over Iowa, U-M has hit double-digit wins in Big Ten play with 10. It helps Beilein post a third straight season with 10-plus conference wins as well as six of the last seven seasons. Beilein's 108 career Big Ten victories lists him 19th all-time among conference coaches.
