
U-M to Host Louisville on Senior Day

» Sunday's races mark the final regular-season event of the 2018 season for U-M before the postseason, which begins with the Big Ten Championships on May 13.
» U-M will honor its nine departing seniors with a Senior Day celebration at the conclusion of races.
» This marks the fifth consecutive season in which U-M has hosted Louisville for its regular-season finale.

The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan rowing program welcomes the Louisville Cardinals to Belleville Lake for U-M's Senior Day Celebration.
Michigan will compete with a full lineup -- six crews -- including the first and second varsity eights, three varsity fours and the first novice eight.
The Wolverines will wrap up the 2018 regular season with this weekend's races. Preparations are already under way for the program's postseason run. The Big Ten Championships are first on that schedule, two Sundays from this one (May 13).
Races are set to begin at 9 a.m. this weekend, with the last race of the day scheduled for 10:15. The full schedule is listed below:

THINGS TO KNOW
• U-M returns to row at home after the most recent competition week saw the team travel to Lake Las Vegas to compete. This marks the final event of the regular season for the Wolverines, who will prepare for the postseason upon the conclusion of this weekend's races.
• Sunday's regatta also marks a Senior Day celebration for the Maize and Blue. Michigan will honor its nine departing seniors: Kendall Brewer, Flick Cain, Mollie Fox, Alexis Jones, Kalia Krichko, Rae Oleshansky, Kathleen Peng, Abby Vare and Haley Zapolski.
• Seniors and their families will be honored at the conclusion of events with P.A. recognition and a photo opportunity near the launch area of the Belleville Lake Boathouse.
• This weekend's event comes after the fifth release of the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) poll for the 2018 season, and U-M has earned a No. 7 ranking in this week's edition, moving up one spot from last week.
• U-M's ranking is aided by a solid showing against top-ranked Washington and No. 3-ranked Texas its last time out, rowing on Lake Las Vegas two weekends ago (April 14). The 2V8 had the program's best finish with a second-place showing.
• U-M honored more than 500 student-athletes at the U-M Academic Honors and Awards Banquet on Monday (April 9). The rowing program featured 64 student-athletes to receive Academic Athletic Achievement recognition, while junior Rebecca Joyce was named the recipient of the Let's Go Do Award for Civic Engagement.
• Senior coxswain Alexis Jones was announced earlier this month as one of four recipients of the Bonderman Fellowship, a prestigious honor awarded to four graduating U-M LS&A seniors which affords them the opportunity to travel the world for eight months on a $20,000 stipend. More information here.
