First Varsity Eight (April 3)
Co-Big Ten Boat of the Week -- The No. 5-ranked University of Michigan program picked up its second conference accolade of the season with the 1V8 boat earning co-Big Ten Boat of the Week honors. This week's nod from the conference is split with Ohio State, which hosted the regatta against Duke, Clemson and No. 9-ranked Virginia. U-M's 1V8 won both its 2,000-meter races on the Scioto River in Columbus, Ohio. The early-morning victory came against the Tigers (6:14.5; +16.94) and the late-morning win came against the Cavaliers (6:27.9; +2.24). That improved the 1V8 boat to 5-1 overall this spring, now with two wins on UVA. Michigan's lineups are listed below:

First Varsity Eight (March 20)
Big Ten Boat of the Week -- The University of Michigan's 1V8 boat earned the first Big Ten Boat of the Week honors for the 2018 spring season. Aside from being the first accolade of the spring for the Maize and Blue, it marks Michigan's first such honor since April 11, 2017. This week's recognition comes on the heels of a perfect race weekend for U-M in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, at the Louisville Cardinal Invitational. Racing 2,000 meters on Melton Hill Lake, the Wolverines won both of their races on Saturday and another on Sunday. Saturday morning, Michigan crossed the finish line at 6:10.294 (+4.452) ahead of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Tulsa, and later in the afternoon, U-M's time of 6:15.099 bested Yale (+3.806), Louisville and Tennessee. On the second day of action, U-M finished in 5:57.600, the fastest time by any eight boat all weekend, to come in ahead of Virginia (+4.052), Michigan State and Tennessee.
