Bock Headlines Wolverine Effort at Big Ten Event Finals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's gymnastics team took home a trio of fourth place finishes Saturday (April 7) in the Big Ten individual event finals at U-M's Crisler Center following a team second-place finish on Friday.
The Wolverines had eight competitors in all, with freshman Cameron Bock taking part in a team-high three events. Bock, who earned All-Big Ten honors on Friday (April 6), followed up his All-Big Ten effort with a pair of fourth-place finishes on high bar and still rings.
On floor exercise, U-M took the five through seven spots. Freshman Jacob Moore had the top U-M score with a 14.100, while senior Marty Strech (13.950), and junior Emyre Cole scored a 13.875 in the leadoff spot.
Pommel horse saw Bock mark a 13.400 to tie for seventh, while sophomore Mack Lasker had a small hiccup on his routine and scored a 13.000 for ninth-place.
On rings, Bock narrowly missed the top-three by .05, scoring a 13.825, while senior Dmitri Belanovski placed fifth with a 13.800.
Vault proved to be another strong event for the Maize and Blue with Cole and junior Anthony McCallum taking close fourth- and fifth-place finishes with a 14.700 and 14.675, respectively. Cole's mark was his third highest of the season.
McCallum was the only Wolverine to compete on parallel bars in the event finals, where he came in eighth with a 13.425. Bock also as the lone competitor on high bar for U-M finished fourth with a 13.725.

The Wolverines will next trek to the 2018 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships, hosted by UIC, on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 in Chicago, Illinois.
