The University of Michigan volleyball team continued its #MGoEurope journey on Wednesday with a stop in Padova, Italy, to sight-see and a match in Talmassons, Italy, before making its way to Maribor, Slovenia.
9 a.m. -- With a long day ahead, the team is able to sleep in before grabbing one last breakfast at the hotel in Galzignano. Following the most important meal of the day, the girls have time to pack and visit the pool before Michigan departs for Padova.
11:30 a.m. -- The Wolverines load up the bus and depart for Padova, which is just a half-hour drive from the hotel.
12:15 p.m. -- The bus arrives in Padova and the Wolverines make a short walk into town before going off into groups to eat lunch and sight-see. Compared to Milan, Verona, and Venice, the Padova area is much more residential, though is still home to many great restaurants and shops. The team spends about three hours in the city, which features many works of art and tall, beautiful buildings.

3:45 p.m. -- Michigan meets in the main square of the city of Padova and makes the short walk back to the bus before departing to Talmassons for the team's second match of the week. The bus ride is quite long, so many of the girls take naps to rest up for the upcoming contest.
6 p.m. -- The team arrives to the city of Talmassons for the night's match against the Talmassons B1 team of Italy. An hour-and-a-half warmup follows, which is a good time for the girls to stretch out after a long bus ride and get back into volleyball mode.
Match vs. Talmassons B1 of Italy -- The University of Michigan volleyball team won the second match of its foreign trip a 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 26-24, 25-13) defeat of Talmassons B1 of Italy on Wednesday. The Wolverines took the first set of the day by a 25-20 score but lost momentum in the second set and trailed early. Despite a late surge, Michigan dropped set two, 25-19, but battled to win the third set, 26-24, before cruising to a 25-13 fourth set victory. Senior Carly Skjodt led the offense with 16 kills while junior Sydney Wetterstrom added 10 to help Michigan post a .275 team hitting percentage. Skjodt also added 12 digs for a kill-dig double-double, and senior libero Jenna Lerg led all players with 17 digs for the match. From the front row, sophomore Kiara Shannon posted a team-high four blocks.

Before the match, the Wolverines gave each player on the opposing team a keychain with a Maize and Blue volleyball attached. The Talmassons B1 team presented Michigan with a crested flag.
10 p.m. -- The team bus departs for Maribor, Slovenia, which is on the eastern side of the country. The trip takes more than three hours, so many of the girls fall asleep during the trip.
Thursday, 1:15 a.m. -- The bus arrives to the Wolverines' hotel in Maribor and the team checks in quickly before going right to bed. Good rest is essential following a night match, and Michigan will have practice this morning as well before a day of sightseeing and two final matches on Friday and Saturday.
