
University of Michigan Named Host of 2020 CWPA Championship

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced its women's championship sites for the next six seasons on Tuesday (July 17), with the University of Michigan selected to host in 2020 at Canham Natatorium.
This will mark the third time the CWPA Championship has been held in Ann Arbor. The last time was 2013 when the Wolverines lost, 7-5, to No. 11 Princeton in the championship game. The first time was 2008 when U-M defeated No. 14 Hartwick, 10-7, to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.Â
This year's CWPA Championship will be hosted by Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Other sites announced include Bucknell (Lewisburg, Pennsylvania) in 2021, Saint Francis (Loretto, Pennsylvania) in 2022, Princeton (Princeton, New Jersey) in 2023 and Harvard (Cambridge, Massachusetts) in 2024.
It was announced in 2017 that the Wolverines will host the NCAA Championship at Canham Natatorium in 2022.
