After a late-night return to the hotel after the KK Mega Bemax game Thursday (Aug. 23), the Wolverines had an easy morning to sleep in and relax Friday (Aug. 24) before they headed out to the beach town of Cambrils for a private catamaran journey in the Mediterranean Sea.
With 90-degree temperatures and rather calm seas, the Maize and Blue headed about 30 minutes out before dropping anchor and settling in for swimming, diving contests and an amazing BBQ lunch. As the captain pulled the anchor, many of the U-M staff and players took the opportunity for a light siesta lying in the sun or just watching the sites heading back into the dock.
The town of Cambrils is known for its beaches and boat tours.
After the Wolverines boarded the bus, they traveled the hour-and-a-half return trip before getting a chance to take a break before heading out to dinner at La Salamanca in Barceloneta -- near the waters of Mediterranean Sea.
On Saturday (Aug. 25), the Wolverines will have an easy day at the hotel before a return visit to Sant Julia de Vilatorta and Pavelló Esportiu Municipal for U-M's final tour game against Joventut Badalona (ACB) at 7 p.m. local time.
Until then ... #VamosAzul
