The Opposition
Indiana
The Hoosiers, the defending Big Ten champion, are 5-0 on the season, holding wins over Notre Dame, Kentucky, Missouri, Florida and Texas. Thursday marks their first competition since the IU Invitational nearly two months ago (Nov. 15-17). Indiana is led in the pool by NCAA champion Ian Finnerty (No. 1 in the Big Ten in the 100-yard breaststroke), sophomore Gabriel Fantoni (No. 1 in the 100-yard backstroke, No. 2 in the 200-yard backstroke), diver and Australian Olympic diver James Connor and Auburn transfer Zach Apple (No. 1 in the 100-yard freestyle).Â
Michigan is 46-32-3 in the all-time series against Indiana. The series dates back to the 1922-23 season. The Hoosiers have won two consecutive meetings in the series, including a 170.5-129.5 victory last year in Ann Arbor.

Freshman Ruslan Gaziev is one of the team's top sprinters, ranking in the top 10 of the Big Ten in the 50-yard freestyle (seventh), 100-yard freestyle (fifth) and 200-yard freestyle (seventh).
Michigan holds a 71-11-2 record in the all-time series against Ohio State. The series dates back to the 1933-34 season. The Wolverines won last season's matchup, 157-142, in Columbus.
