DEXTER, Mich. -- Runners from the No. 17-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team officially closed the book on the regular season at the Eastern Michigan Fall Classic on Friday (Oct. 25).
Gabe Mudel led the way for the Wolverines with a fourth-place finish, covering the five-kilometer (3.11-mile) Hudson Mills Metropark course in 15:04.8.
Rounding out Michigan's lineup were seventh-place Colton Yesney (15:21.4) and ninth-place James Gedris (15:26.6).
There were no team scores kept in the meet, which featured competitors from Eastern Michigan, Grace Christian, Lansing Community College, Michigan State, Oakland and Toledo. Unattached runners and competitors from non-NCAA club teams also were allowed.
Connor Black of Canadian London Western took the victory in 14:52.7.
With the regular season now complete, the Wolverines will turn their full attention toward next Sunday's (Nov. 3) Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio, where they will attempt to win a third team title in the past five seasons.
