The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (4-0) returns to Crisler Center to host perennial power Notre Dame (3-2) on Saturday (Nov. 23) at 1 p.m. It is Game Show Day at Crisler, with the first 500 fans receiving a Game Show Day T-shirt as we celebrate classic game shows throughout the contest.
• Michigan is averaging 80.3 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the floor through four games. U-M has had a different leading scorer in three of its four games, with each player turning in a career high in scoring. Senior Kayla Robbins scored 17 points in the first start of her career in Michigan's opener against Western Michigan (Nov. 8). Classmate Akienreh Johnson notched the first 20-point game of her career, going for 21 points in U-M's victory over Kent State (Nov. 15). Sophomore Naz Hillmon has led Michigan in scoring twice, the latter coming against Akron (Nov. 16) when she had a career-best 28 points.
• Michigan features a trio of double-figure scorers in Naz Hillmon (17.0 ppg), Kayla Robbins (11.5 ppg) and Amy Dilk (10.5 ppg). In addition, five other Wolverines are averaging at least 5.3 points per game in Akienreh Johnson (9.8 ppg), Hailey Brown (7.0 ppg), Izabel Varejão (6.8 ppg), Michelle Sidor (6.8 ppg) and Emily Kiser (5.3 ppg).
• Michigan remained unbeaten on the season after sweeping a pair of games at the Akron Classic last weekend. It is the second straight season that U-M is 4-0 and the fourth time in the last five years that the Maize and Blue has won its first four contests.
• Notre Dame (3-2) is coming off a 54-51 win over Toledo on Wednesday (Nov. 20) at home. The Irish feature four double-digit scorers in Katlyn Gilbert (16.0 ppg), Sam Brunelle (16.0 ppg), Destinee Walker (12.6 ppg) and Anaya Peoples (12.2 ppg). Notre Dame is averaging 66.0 points per game on 39.6 percent shooting while allowing 62.4 points per contest on 36.4 percent shooting. Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 12-7, and has won the last three meetings between the two teams.
• Michigan has been effective on the glass in the early going, averaging 42.3 boards per game with a +10.5 margin to rank fourth in the Big Ten. U-M leads the Big Ten in rebounding defense, allowing just 31.8 rebounds per game to its opponents. Naz Hillmon is fifth in the conference in rebounding (8.3 rpg), with Amy Dilk coming in eighth at 8.0 rebounds per game. Dilk is second overall in the conference in defensive rebounding, grabbing 7.5 defensive caroms per game.
