TopDrawerSoccer.com Second XI Team -- Junior Sarah Stratigakis was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Second XI team as part of its 2019 Women's D-I Women's postseason awards. She adds the accolade to her list of 2019 awards, which includes being just the eighth Wolverine in program history to earn All-America honors (second team). Stratigakis led the Big Ten and tied for ninth nationally with 12 assists. Combined with her seven goals, she tallied a team-high 26 points. The Woodbridge, Ontario, native scored three game-winners and had four contests with both a goal and an assist. Raleigh Loughman, Danielle Wolfe (Oct. 15)
Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week: Sophomore Raleigh Loughman led the Wolverines to a pair of Big Ten wins at Illinois (Oct. 11) and at Northwestern (Oct. 13) as she tallied six points in two contests. She kicked off the weekend with a career-best five points at Illinois, scoring two goals and adding an assist on the game-winner. The midfielder ended the weekend with an assist on a corner kick that led to Michigan's first goal at Northwestern. Loughman also played the entire 188 minutes of Michigan's two contests. Big Ten Freshman of the Week: Danielle Wolfe had a career-best day at Illinois with two goals on five shots, including the game-winner. Wolfe scored her first goal of the night on a header in the 65th minute and scored one more goal in the closing three minutes to seal Michigan's 4-1 victory at Illinois (Oct. 11). Wolfe played 32 minutes off the bench against the Illini and played 30 minutes against Northwestern. The award is the first of Wolfe's career. » Big Ten Release
Hillary Beall, Sarah Stratigakis (Sept. 17)
Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week: Junior Hillary Beall earned a win over No. 13-ranked Washington State on Sept. 13. The junior keeper made a career-best 12 saves on 13 shots on goal in the Wolverines' 2-1 victory over WSU. It not only was her first road win of the season, but her second career victory over a ranked opponent as she notched a 2-0 win against No. 17 Wisconsin in 2018. Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week: Junior Sarah Stratigakis tallied three points in Michigan's 2-1 win over No. 13 Washington State. She scored the first goal of the match before she set up Meredith Haakenson's game-winning goal with the second assist. The three-point match marked the third of the season for Stratigakis as she also recorded three points in back-to-back matches to start the season. Stratigakis' nine points are tied for the team lead and she is ranked sixth in the Big Ten in the category. » Big Ten Release
Hillary Beall, Nicki Hernandez and Sarah Stratigakis (Aug. 19)
Juniors Hillary Beall, Nicki Hernandez and Sarah Stratigakis were named to the preseason honors list after impressive sophomore campaigns. Hernandez and Stratigakis return for their third season after they led the team with 22 and 17 points, respectively. Hernandez scored a team-best eight goals and had a team-high six assists, while Stratigakis had seven goals and three helpers. The duo was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region second team, while Stratigakis earned All-Big Ten second team honors. Beall tallied four wins for the Wolverines, which included a 2-0 win against No. 17 Wisconsin in her first game back from injury, while making 34 saves for a .756 save percentage in her 10 starts in net. » Big Ten Release
The University of Michigan women's soccer team was picked to finish fifth in the Big Ten Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll this season after it finished eighth (5-5-1) in the Big Ten in head coach Jennifer Klein's first season at the helm of the program. » Big Ten Release
