The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team hits the road on Friday (March 22) to take on Penn State for its second Big Ten matchup of the season. The Wolverines will then host No.1 Ohio State on Sunday (March 24), at 2 p.m. at the Varsity Tennis Center to conclude the weekend. Sunday's match also is a Maize Out, as fans are encouraged to wear maize to support the student-athletes and show Michigan spirit.
• Friday's match will be the 35th meeting between U-M and Penn State, with the Maize and Blue holding a 27-7 advantage in the all-time series against the Nittany Lions. Michigan was 1-0 against Penn State last season with a 5-2 decision in Ann Arbor.
• Penn State comes into the matchup with an 8-5 record, having beaten Michigan State, 7-0, last Saturday (Mar.16) in East Lansing.
• The Nittany Lions are led by Constant De La Bassetiere, who has a 9-2 record in the No.1 spot in singles play. The Penn State captain is now 4-1 over ranked opponents this season, and is ranked No.44 by the ITA.
• The Buckeyes and Wolverines have an extensive history in men's tennis. Sunday will mark the 114th meeting between the two programs. • Michigan is in search of its first dual-match victory against Ohio State since 2001.

• Ohio State enters the weekend with 16-2 overall record, having lost their previous two matches against Texas and Texas A&M.
• The Buckeyes are led by JJ Wolf, who has a 19-0 overall record in the No.1 spot in singles play. The junior also is ranked the No.1 player in ITA singles rankings, while the doubles duo of Hunter Tubert and Martin Joyce is ranked No. 3 in the nation.

• Siimar and Fenty have teamed up in doubles for a team-high 14-3 mark, while going 9-1 in dual matches.
• After its match against Ohio State, the Maize and Blue will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana, on Saturday, March 30 for a showdown with Purdue. The Wolverines will follow that match with a trip to Bloomington to face Indiana on Sunday, March 31.
