The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team (13-6, 4-3 Big Ten) is set to host its two final home matches of the regular season. The Wolverines will take on Minnesota (14-5, 3-4 Big Ten) on Saturday (April 13) and Wisconsin (8-9, 2-5 Big Ten) on Sunday (April 14) at the Varsity Tennis Center. Both matches are scheduled for noon starts.
• Saturday's match will be the 91st meeting between U-M and Minnesota, with the Wolverines holding a 54-34-2 record in the all-time series against the Gophers. Michigan's last match against Minnesota was on April 7, 2018, when the Maize and Blue won, 5-2.
• The Gophers approach Saturday's matchup with a 14-5 record, and are coming off of wins against both Purdue (April 5) and Indiana (April 7). Minnesota is led by Josip Krstanovic, who has a 10-7 record in the No. 1 singles spot, while the duo of Jackson Allen and Eli Ogilvy sit own an 8-2 record at No. 2 doubles.
• Wisconsin and Michigan have a long history in men's tennis, with Sunday marking the 92nd meeting between the two programs. Michigan holds a dominating 81-9-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Badgers. Michigan and Wisconsin last met at the 2018 Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals, at which U-M defeated Wisconsin, 4-1, on April 27 in Iowa City, Iowa.
• Wisconsin enters Sunday's match with an 8-9 overall record, having split their previous weekend matches with a loss against Indiana (April 5) and a win over Purdue (April 7). The Badgers are led by Osgar O'Hoisin, who has an 8-6 overall record at the No.1 singles spot. The doubles pairing of Chase Colton and Robert Krill hold a strong 10-2 record as the No.3 team.
• Ranked No. 53 by the ITA, sophomore Mattias Siimar holds a 14-14 record and is 8-9 in dual matches from the No. 1 spot. The last win for the Estonia native came in a 6-2, 6-3 victory in his first appearance at No. 2 singles against Northwestern's Anotonioni Fasano on April 5.
• Michigan freshman Andrew Fenty has a team-leading 21-5 mark in singles play, with a 14-2 record in dual-match play, competing at the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 spots in the lineup. Fenty's team-high 12-match win streak came to an end in his debut at No. 1 singles last Saturday (April 5).
• Prior to Sunday's (April 14) match against Wisconsin the Wolverines will honor its two-member senior class, Myles Schalet and Gabe Tishman. Schalet has a 61-33 overall record in singles play and a 40-23 record in doubles. The Montville, New Jersey, native was ranked as high as No. 58 nationally in singles his sophomore season when he sported a 22-9 overall record. Schalet has been named Academic All-Big Ten for the past two school years and will graduate with a degree in sport management.
• Gabe Tishman has a 38-18 overall record in singles play with his most successful season coming this year. The Bedford, New York, native holds a 14-10 record in singles play and a 12-6 record in doubles this season, more than doubling last year's win total. Tishman has been named Academic All-Big Ten for the past two school years and will graduate with a degree in program in the environment with a minor in business from the Ross School of Business.
