
Ten Wolverines Receive ACWPC All-Academic Awards

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its 2019 All-Academic Awards on Tuesday (July 9) with 10 University of Michigan student-athletes earning recognition.
The program honors student-athletes who have achieved grade-point averages (GPA) of 3.2 or higher and competed during the season. The individuals are awarded at three levels: excellent (3.2-3.4 GPA), superior (3.41-3.7 GPA) and outstanding (3.71-4.00 GPA).
Earning the top honor were freshmen Abby Andrews and Sidney Vranesh, who each posted a GPA above a 3.71 for the year.
Five Wolverines fell in the superior category with a successful year that placed them between a 3.41 and a 3.70 GPA. The list included senior Kim Johnson, juniors Maddy Steere and Skyler Pyle, and sophomores Maddie O'Reilly and Sofie Pontré.
Additionally, three U-M student-athletes received excellent status with a GPA between 3.2 and 3.4 -- senior Julia Sellers, junior Heidi Ritner and sophomore Brittany Prentice.
Michigan also earned a team honor for having a team GPA above a 3.00.
