What You Need to Know for Sunday's Game
• For the fourth straight year, the Wolverines will close the regular season on the road -- at Nebraska (W, 67-65; March 1, 2017), at Maryland (W, 85-61; Feb. 24, 2018) and at Michigan State (L, 75-63; March 9, 2019).
• U-M has won its last two meetings at the Xfinity Center and is 3-3 there all-time. Last year, the Wolverines posted a 69-62 victory on March 3, 2019.
• Michigan is 24th in the NCAA Net rating system. With the Big Ten's continued overall strength this season and U-M's challenging non-conference slate, the Wolverines' schedule continues to be listed as one of the best in the nation -- 2nd (Sagarin; 15th rated team), 3rd (ESPN's BPI; 19th rated team) and 3rd (KenPom; 11th rated team).
• Franz Wagner has scored in double figures over his last six games. In those games, he is averaging a team-best 16.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 59.3 percent (38-for-64) from the field and 37.9 percent (11-for-29) from long range. During this stretch, he scored a career-best 22 points at Purdue (Feb. 22) -- the second 20+ point game of his career and posted his first career double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) at No. 23 Ohio State (March 1).
• Wagner was named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week on Monday (March 2) for the third time this season.
• Michigan is shooting a Big Ten best 46.1 percent from the field.
• Isaiah Livers has missed just two free throws this season and leads U-M at 95.5 percent (42-for-44). He is 34-for-34 over his last 11 games and is a perfect 32-for-32 in Big Ten play. The two misses were in the Bahamas at the Battle 4 Atlantis -- vs. Iowa State (4-for-5; Nov. 27) and vs. North Carolina (0-for-1; Nov. 28).
• Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske are the all-time winningest Wolverines with 108 career victories. The previous record was 104.
• Simpson played in his 145th career game against Nebraska (March 5) -- his final game at Crisler Center. He has 128 career games under his belt.
• Simpson leads the nation with a 7.9 assist average and is second overall with his 230 assists. This season, he has earned his second straight season of 200+ assists after finishing last season with 244, which was 16 dimes away from Trey Burke's U-M record 260 (2012-13). Simpson is the first U-M player to post two 200+ assist seasons.
• Simpson became the 55th Wolverine to score 1,000 points (1,060) and has averaged a career-best 12.9 points per game this season. With his 661 career assists, Simpson has 469 career rebounds and needs to grab 31 more to give him 500 for his career to make him the first Wolverine to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
• Reaching 1,000 points, Simpson (1,060 points, 661 assists) became the fourth Wolverine with 1,000 points and 500 assists, joining Gary Grant (2,222 points, 731 assists; 1985-88); Rumeal Robinson (1,446 points, 575 assists; 1988-90) and Antoine Joubert (1,594 points, 539 assists; 1984-87).
• Teske (612) became the 29th Wolverine to reach 600 rebounds in a career, and he leads the team with 6.9 per game collecting five-plus boards in 24 games. Teske moved into a tie for fifth for blocks. With his 164 blocks, he ranks fifth all-time at Michigan.
• Zavier Simpson (11 points, 10 assists) and Isaiah Livers (18 points, 10 rebounds) each had a double-double against Nebraska (March 5). It is the first time two Wolverines had a double-dip since Simpson (10 points, 11 assists) and Jon Teske (12 points, 10 rebounds) at Maryland on March 15, 2019).
• Austin "Big Country" Davis has gone 29-for-39 (74.3 percent) over his last 11 games. This season, Davis has come off the bench to average 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds.
