The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team returns to competition for the first time in six weeks when they take on host No. 7 Illinois and No. 3 Nebraska in a tri-meet Sunday (Feb. 21) at 2 p.m. CST inside Illinois' Huff Hall.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is ranked No. 2 in the Road To Nationals rankings (409.000), with Nebraska coming in at No. 3 (405.375) and Illinois at No. 7 (396.738).
• Michigan holds an advantage over Illinois and Nebraska in five of six events; floor exercise (68.350), pommel horse (66.750), still rings (67.800), parallel bars (68.150) and high bar (68.150). Nebraska holds the advantage on the vault table, led by Taylor Christopulos, who ranks No. 2 nationally with a mark of 14.75.
• The Wolverines hold the top two spots in the all-around individual rankings, with top-ranked sophomore Paul Juda coming in with a mark of 86.550 and senior Cameron Bock holding second place with a score of 83.300.
• Statistically, the most competitive events of the meet look to be still rings and parallel bars, with each team featuring top-10 performers. Michigan holds the top spot in both of these events, with Bock marking a 14.250 on still rings and Juda owning a 14.700 on parallel bars.
• Paul Juda ranks as one of the top gymnasts in the country. He ranks in the top five nationally on floor exercise (No. 5, 14.300), pommel horse (No. 2, 14.350), still rings (No. 2, 14.100), vault (No. 4, 14.650), parallel bars (No. 1, 14.700) and high bar (No. 1, 14.450). Bock also leads nationally on two events -- pommel horse (14.400) and still rings (14.250).
