Wolverine Bites
• The Wolverines captured the Big Ten regular-season title with a win over Penn State on March 20. It is U-M's second consecutive conference crown after winning in 2019 as well. Michigan was atop the conference standings in 2020 at 6-0 before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• U-M leads the Big Ten in total team score at 413.433, more than two points ahead of Nebraska (411.100). U-M also leads the conference on pommel horse (68.367), still rings (69.383) and high bar (67.650). Michigan is second in the B1G on parallel bars (68.133) and third on floor exercise (68.500).
• Michigan will begin the championship on vault, and will rotate through parallel bars, high bar, floor exercise, a bye, pommel horse, and will end still rings.
• Sophomore Paul Juda was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Year on Monday (March 29), marking the eighth time a Wolverine has garnered the honor. A two-time Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honoree in 2021, Juda has captured 13 event titles this year and is the top-ranked all-around gymnast in the country with a national qualifying average of 86.167.
• Juda also is ranked No. 1 nationally on high bar (14.367). He is ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten on parallel bars (14.617) and is second in the league on floor exercise (14.533), still rings (14.300) and pommel horse (14.250). Juda is third in the Big Ten on vault (14.683). In terms of season-high scores, Juda owns the top mark in the nation in the all-around with his 86.500 on Jan. 17 against UIC, while his score of 14.550 on high bar against Minnesota on March 14 is also the top mark in the country. He shares the top rings score with his 14.500 against Illinois and Nebraska on Feb. 21.
• Senior Cameron Bock, the reigning Big Ten Gymnast of the Championship from 2019, will be joined by Juda to form the most formidable combination in the Big Ten. Bock leads the conference on pommel horse (14.445) and still rings (14.450), and is No. 2 in the all-around behind Juda (83.783).
