INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The No. 27-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team will be represented at the NCAA Cross Country Championships by individual qualifier Devin Meyrer, the NCAA announced Sunday afternoon (March 7) during its selection show.
Though his full team was not selected to compete at the NCAA meet scheduled for next Monday (March 15) in Stillwater, Okla., Meyrer will still don the maize and blue in pursuit of All-America honors for the second season in a row.
Meyrer, who is also slated to compete in the 5,000-meter final at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 11, was 16th at the 2019 edition of the cross country national championships.
In his lone race on the trails this winter, he took third overall at Friday's (March 5) Florida State Winter Cross Country Last Chance Invitational to lead the Wolverines to a runner-up team finish.
On the indoor track this season, he clocked a career-best 13:46.68 to finish fourth in the Big Ten Conference Indoor Championships 5,000-meter final.
Next Monday's NCAA Championships for the men will be run at 12:40 p.m. CDT at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course live on ESPNU. The 10-kilometer men's race will be preceded by the 6K women's race at 11:50 a.m. CDT.
