Meyrer, Wolverines Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Devin Meyrer of the University of Michigan men's cross country team earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic honors and the Wolverines were honored as a team for the seventh straight year, the association announced Thursday (April 1).
Meyrer, a graduate student pursuing his master's degree in Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health & Substance Abuse, garnered the award for the second straight season on the heels of claiming his second consecutive All-America honor with a 24th-place finish at the rescheduled 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships last month.
He earned this distinction by virtue of carrying a cumulative grade-point average greater than 3.25 and qualifying for the NCAA meet.
Meyrer was among 187 male student-athletes from NCAA Division I institutions across the country recognized with this award.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at its respective NCAA regional championship.
The Wolverines -- led by head coach Kevin Sullivan -- met that standard for the seventh year in a row and the ninth time in the last 10 seasons.
