The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team, coming off winning the Big Ten Championship, enters the 2021 NCAA Championships as the No. 2 seed in the competition, and will begin its quest for its seventh NCAA title in Session II on Friday (April 16) at 7 p.m. CDT. The event, hosted by the University of Minnesota, also will host the NCAA Finals on Saturday (April 17) at 7 p.m. CT. Sessions I and II will be streamed live on Big Ten Network+ and NCAA.com, while Session III on Saturday (April 7) will be broadcast via Big Ten Network at 7 p.m. CDT.
On Friday, 12 teams will compete in two sessions of six teams. Michigan's session will pit the Wolverines against California, Iowa, host Minnesota, Penn State and Stanford. Three teams and the top three all-around competitors not on one of the qualifying teams, plus the top three individuals on each event not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor, will advance from each pre-qualifying session to the finals session.
