ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (3-6, 3-6 Big Ten) will close out its 2021 regular season with a two-game series with No. 15 Johns Hopkins (5-5, 5-5 Big Ten) at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The first game is scheduled for Thursday (April 22) at 3 p.m., while the finale will take place Saturday (April 24) at noon. Both games will be streamed live on Big Ten Network+.
The games were originally scheduled for March 26-28 but were rescheduled twice due to COVID-19 related issues within the JHU and U-M programs.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is 3-6 overall on the season after falling to Ohio State and Northwestern last weekend. Despite the losses, U-M still ranks in the top 25 nationally, coming in at No. 23 in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll (April 19).
• Graduate senior Molly Garrett had another outstanding performance, scoring six of Michigan's nine goals against the No. 2-ranked Wildcats. The midfielder also added two draw controls to her stat line against Northwestern.
• Freshman Caroline Davis also had a big weekend, netting a career-best four goals against Ohio State and one goal against Northwestern, while freshman Caroline Bean had one goal and two assists against OSU and a goal and an assist against NU.
• Sophomore Mariah Sweeney had her first career starts in the cage this weekend, making a career-best 14 saves against Northwestern.
• Senior Caitlin Muir continued her impressive season, ranking third in the Big Ten with 20 assists. The senior also has scored 15 goals to lead the Wolverines, while ranking fourth in the Big Ten, with 35 points this season.
• Michigan will honor its 10 seniors prior to the game with Johns Hopkins.

Johns Hopkins is 5-5 overall on the season, most recently winning 13-11 over No. 13 Penn State. The Blue Jays also played a tightly-contested game with No. 11 Maryland, falling 9-8. Johns Hopkins has scored 108 goals with 61 assists. Aurora Cordingley leads the team with 40 points, including 31 goals. Mackenzie Heldberg has 33 points with 15 goals and Maggie Schneidereith has 29 points with 16 goals for JHU. In the cage, Kathleen Garvey has started all 10 games with an 11.70 goals against average and 91 saves.
