Michigan at the Big Ten Championships
Michigan has won 12 Big Ten championships throughout the history of the program with the last coming in the 1952 season. Individually, U-M has had 15 players win medalist honors at the conference event with the last in 1999 by Michael Harris.
Wolverine Bites
• Charlie Pilon has played in 32 career events and will start his 30th straight event at the Big Ten Championships. The streak has spanned more than three seasons. This season Pilon has finished as the top Wolverine in two of five events -- Louisiana Classics (t-31st, 220) and Hoosier Collegiate Invitational (t-21st, 227). He is averaging 76.67 per round this season, with a season-low 71 (-1) in the second round of the Louisiana Classics -- his 17th career sub-par tally.
• Patrick Sullivan, one of three Wolverines to start all five events, leads U-M with a 74.33 per round average. He posted the lowest round of the season with a career-low 67 (-5) -- his first career sub-70 round -- in the final round of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate (Feb. 14-16). Using that round, he posted a U-M season-low as well as his career-best 215 (-1), topping his prior best by six shots (221, 2018 Fighting Irish Classic).
• Will Anderson has started all five events in his rookie campaign, leading U-M in two of those events and posting his first career top-10 individual finish (t-9th) at Houston's Border Olympics with an even-par 216 (71-72-73). That even-par tally was the lowest by a U-M freshman since teammate Henry Spring posted a 214 (+4) tally at the 2017 Big Ten Championships (April 27-29) at Baltimore Country Club. Anderson is the only Wolverine to have all 15 rounds counted this season and is averaging 74.53 per round and 223.60 per 54-hole event.
• Brent Ito returned for a graduate year after the NCAA allowed an extra year of eligibility after the cancellation of the 2019-20 spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has started four events and averaged 75.83 per round. In 2019-20, Ito had a career year, leading U-M with a 72.67 scoring average and earning All-Big Ten second team honors -- the first conference accolade of his career.
• Jack O'Donnell has three starts under his belt this season. He is averaging 79.44 per round and had a career-best 235 tally in his collegiate debut at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. Jude Kim played in one event this season as an individual and posted a 257 total in Mobile Bay.
