
Duke Selected by Tampa Bay Lightning in Fourth Round of NHL Draft

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Incoming Universiry of Michigan ice hockey forward Dylan Duke was selected by the back-to-back Stanley Cup-champion Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday (July 24).
A 5-foot-10, 181-pound centerman, Duke appeared in 105 games with the US National Team Development Program, compiling 97 points on 58 goals and 39 assists over two seasons. He played at the 2021 World U18 Championship, scoring three goals in five games, and won a silver medal with Team USA at the U17 Hockey Challenge with eight points in six games. A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Duke is a four-time Michigan Amateur Hockey Association state champion.
Duke is one of six Wolverine players and recruits to be selected in this years draft. Owen Power (first overall, Buffalo Sabres), Matty Beniers (second, Seattle Kraken), Luke Hughes (fourth, New Jersey Devils), Kent Johnson (fifth, Columbus Blue Jackets) and Mackie Samoskevich (24th, Florida Panthers) were selected in a historic first round on Friday night (July 23).
With its six draftees, the Michigan program has had 176 players selected in the NHL Draft since and this is the 27th consecutive year U-M has had a player chosen.
