
Michigan Announces 2021 Men's Soccer Schedule

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team released its 17-game 2021 schedule on Monday (Aug. 2), which will feature 10Â matches at U-M Soccer Stadium.
After playing a conference-only schedule in 2020-21, the Wolverines are slated to play eight non-conference matches in the 2021 campaign.
Before opening the 2021 regular season, U-M will play three exhibition matches starting with a road match at Bowling Green before playing two home exhibition matches against UIC (Aug. 13) and Saginaw Valley State University (Aug. 15).
The Wolverines officially open the 2021 regular season Thursday, Aug. 26, with a game against in-state opponent Detroit Mercy before making the short trip to Oakland Sunday, Aug. 29. The contest against the Titans will be the second Pride Day at U-M Soccer Stadium as the teams will be celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer social and self-acceptance.
Michigan will then being a four-game home stretch to open the month of September starting with hosting Duke Thursday, Sept. 2, and ending with Chicago State, Sept. 13. U-M fans are invited to bring their dogs to the match against Duke for the team's annual Pups at the Pitch game, while Monday, Sept. 6, against Loyola-Chicago will be Dollar Day with $1 general admission tickets and select $1 concession stand items.
Head coach Chaka Daley and his squad open Big Ten Conference play Friday, Sept. 17, when they travel to Maryland before returning home for a non-conference contest against Notre Dame on Tuesday, Sept. 21, which will be broadcast on ESPNU.
Following a home contest against Northwestern (Sept. 26) to close out the month of September, Michigan will hit the road to take on Indiana (Oct. 1) and return home to take on in-state foe Michigan State (Oct. 5).
U-M will then play two Big Ten contests at Penn State (Oct. 10) and at home against Wisconsin (Oct. 15) before closing out its regular-season non-conference slate at Akron (Oct. 18).
The Maize and Blue plays a pair of final contests to end its regular season, including a home match against Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 22, when the Wolverines will honor their senior class, and a trip to Columbus on Oct. 26 to take on Ohio State. Â
Michigan will look to earn a spot in the Big Ten Conference Tournament with dates and times to be announced.
