The No. 17-ranked University of Michigan women's soccer team (7-1-2, 1-0-1 Big Ten) begins a four-match road swing, starting with a trek to the Hoosier State. The Wolverines will head to West Lafayette, Ind., to tak on Purdue (8-1-2, 3-0-0 Big Ten) on Thursday (Sept. 30) at 7 p.m. The week concludes with U-M rolling into Bloomington for a 1 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 3) matchup at Indiana (8-2-1, 2-1-0 Big Ten). Both contests will be streamed live on B1G+.

• U-M's roster contains one Indiana native in Alia Martin (Carmel/Brebeuf Jesuit).
• Michigan's four-match road swing is the most extended set of road matches in a season since 2008, when U-M started the season with the four away fixtures.
• Michigan's 23 standings points (7-1-2 overall record) are its most through 10 matches since 2019. U-M started that season 8-2-0 (24 points) and also began the 2013 season with 25 points (8-1-1) in the first 10 matches of the season.
• Past the midway point of the season, U-M is outshooting opponents 226-79 and has outscored them 18-5. The Wolverines rank No. 7 in the NCAA in shots (22.60 per match) and top the Big Ten in the category. Collectively, U-M has outshot every opponent this season.
• Senior Nicki Hernandez ranks No. 2 in the conference in shots (4.30/match) and shots on goal (1.80/match). Her five goals and 12 points both rank No. 8 in the league. Classmate Raleigh Loughman also boasts double-digit points (10) on three goals and four assists.
• U-M's Sept. 23 matchup at No. 9 Rutgers has been rescheduled, and will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. in Piscataway, N.J. The originally-scheduled contest on Sept. 23 was postponed due to inclement weather in the greater New Jersey area.
• Michigan has conceded only five goals in the campaign thus far, its fewest through 10 matches since the 2013 season. The Wolverines' .470 goals-against average is No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 14 nationally.
• In the latest United Soccer Coaches poll released Tuesday (Sept. 28), Michigan is ranked No. 17 and is No. 24 in the latest NCAA RPI. Michigan is at No. 23 per the WoSo Independent Ranks, and boasts a strength of schedule of 30.

Purdue
All-time series against the Boilermakers: Michigan leads 12-4-4
Purdue is ranked No. 19 in the latest NCAA RPI with a record of 8-1-2 (3-0-0 B1G). Riding a six-match win streak, conference victories have come over Nebraska (3-1), Illinois (2-1), and Iowa (2-1, OT). Sarah Griffith leads the team with seven goals, while Gracie Dunaway paces the squad in helpers with four.
The two sides did not face each other during the 2021 spring season. In thier last meeting (Sept. 27, 2019), the Wolverines came away with a 2-1 win at U-M Soccer Stadium.
Indiana
All-time series against the Hoosiers: Michigan leads 17-6-4
The Hoosiers enter the week with a record of 8-2-1, are 2-1-0 in conference play and ranked No. 35 in the NCAA RPI. Big Ten victories have come against Iowa (2-0) and Illinois (2-1), while the setback came against Michigan State by a 1-0 score on Sept. 19. In addition to the Illini as a common opponent, IU also defeated Western Michigan 2-1 on Sept. 2. Prior to hosting the Wolverines, Indiana will travel to Ohio State for a Thursday night (Sept. 30) tilt in Columbus.
Michigan has won seven of the last 10 matchups, but is 0-2-1 against the Hoosiers in the last three years. The 2021 spring season matchup saw IU knock off the Wolverines by a 2-0 count.
