ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (4-4-1, 1-1-0 Big Ten) travels for just the third time this season when it heads to Bloomington for a Friday (Oct. 1) match against Indiana (5-2-1, 2-1-0 Big Ten). The Wolverines and Hoosiers are set to square off at Bill Armstrong Stadium at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is coming off a 3-1 victory over Northwestern on Sunday (Sept. 26) and is 1-1-0 in Big Ten Conference play.
• Senior Kevin Buca came up big for the Wolverines against Northwestern, recording the program's 13th hat trick and U-M's first since Sept. 4, 2015 when Francis Atuahene scored three goals against West Virginia.
• For his efforts, Buca was named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Penn State's Peter Mangione, who also recorded a hat trick on the weekend. Buca ranks third in the Big Ten with four goals on the season.
• The Wolverines are outshooting opponents 116-82, putting 41 shots on goal for a .353 shots-on-goal percentage.
• Owen Finnerty and Hayden Evans continue to split time in goal, each giving up six goals this season. Evans has made 19 saves, which ranks fifth in the Big Ten, and he also ranks third in the conference with a .760 save percentage.

Indiana
Indiana leads the all-time series 22-3-3
The Wolverines have not had an easy go against the powerhouse Hoosiers in the series history, earning only three wins in 28 meetings. However, Michigan has taken Indiana to overtime in two of the last three matches, with the lone setback seeing the Hoosiers advance on penalty kicks in the 2019 Big Ten Tournament.
The Hoosiers welcome Michigan to Bill Armstrong Stadium with a 5-2-1 overall record and a 2-1 record in Big Ten play with wins over Michigan State and Northwestern. Indiana has had three shutout wins this season, including its most recent win, a 1-0 victory at Michigan State on Sunday (Sept. 26).
IU is narrowly outscoring its opponent 10-9 and averaging just 9.1 shots per game, while giving up 11.8 shots per game. Daniel Munie has a team-high five points with two goals and one assist, while Tommy Mihalic also has two goals this season, but has taken 17 shots with only five being on frame. In net, Roman Celentano has started all eight games with a 1.09 goals-against average and 23 saves to rank third in the conference.
