COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team lost a tough road competition to No. 6 Ohio State 403.600-398.100 on Saturday (Feb. 12) at OSU's Covelli Center.
Michigan (8-1, 1-1 Big Ten) won one event on the afternoon, with junior Paul Juda taking home the meet's final event, high bar, with a 14.50. He also led the Wolverines on pommel horse and parallel bar with scores of 14.25 and 13.45, respectively. His scores were good enough for second place finishes on both events.
Michigan was able to secure top-three finishes on all events except floor exercise. In addition to Juda's second place finishes, Javier Alfonso finished second on parallel bars (14.00) and Adam Wooten finished behind Juda with a 13.60. David Wolma finished third on vault (14.60), and Crew Bold tied for third on still rings (13.35).
Despite not taking home the event titles, the Wolverines captured their highest team scores of the season on pommel horse (65.600) and vault (71.450).
U-M hit 70 percent of its routines, going 21-of-30 and marking a perfect performance on vault.

The Wolverine contingent of Cameron Bock, Juda, Bold, Siminiuc and Willett will next compete in the USA Gymnastics-sanctioned Winter Cup Challenge, Friday through Sunday, Feb. 25-27 in Frisco, Texas. U-M returns to full-team competition on Saturday, March 5, traveling to West Point, N.Y., to compete against Army and William & Mary.
