ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball team was forced to cancel its series finale against Kent State, originally scheduled for Sunday (March 13), due to rain and cold conditions. The game will not be made up.
The Wolverines previously altered the weekend schedule, playing a doubleheader on Thursday (March 10) due to the poor weekend forecast, and pushed back today's start time before outright canceling it. Michigan swept the first two games, winning 11-1 in five innings and 4-3, to kick off the home portion of its schedule.
Individual ticket holders for Sunday's game can request a refund by returning unused tickets to the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office. The refund request must be within 14 days of the original date of game. Please visit the ticket office's Inclement Weather Policy page for more information.
It is the Wolverines' first game lost to weather this season. Michigan was forced to cancel its Army West Point contest on Feb. 24 due to travel delays but picked up a spring break road game at Elon. Michigan went 8-2 over its 10-day spring break swing to North Carolina and Kentucky. It has won three consecutive games.
Michigan will resume competition against Oakland at 4 p.m. on Wednesday (March 16) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field. Tickets are still available through the U-M Ticket Office.
