LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Senior RHP Alex Storako tossed the first no-hitter of her collegiate career as the No. 19-ranked University of Michigan softball team wrapped up its spring break trip with a 1-0 walk-off win in eight innings against Drake on Saturday (March 5) at Kentucky's John Cropp Stadium.

Storako (10-0) faced one batter over the minimum of 24 in an eight-inning game -- just a sixth-inning walk shy of the perfect game. She fanned 13 Bulldog batters for her sixth double-digit strikeout performance this season. It was also her fourth complete-game shutout.

Senior catcher Hannah Carson delivered the game-winning, walk-off hit in the bottom of the eighth inning. Graduate student outfielder Kristina Burkhardt, who paced the Wolverines with three hits at the plate, smacked a leadoff double off the wall in left-centerfield, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored when Carson drove an RBI single over the Drake right fielder's head just two pitches later.

Michigan was not without its chances earlier in the contest, leaving seven total runners stranded on base and getting thrown out at the plate to end a sixth-inning threat.

The Wolverines posted an 8-2 record over the 10-day spring break trip.

Michigan (13-6) will kick off the home portion of its 2022 schedule against Kent State next weekend, hosting the Golden Flashes for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday (March 12) and a 1 p.m. single slate on Sunday (March 13) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field.
