BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Select runners from the University of Michigan women's track and field team opened up competition at the Indiana Invitational on Friday (April 22), coming mostly from the distance squad.
Dual mid-distance runner and hurdler Lauren Fulcher posted the top finish of the day for the Wolverines as she finished third overall in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.85, just shy of her career best from last weekend.
Members of Michigan's mid-distance squad contested the 1,500 meters, led by 13th-place Sam Tran in 4:24.27. Ericka VanderLende was close in the standings, albeit from a different section, with a 4:25.91 for 17th overall.
The Wolverines will be back in action Saturday (April 23) starting at 1 p.m., starting with newly minted co-school record pole vaulter Brooke Tjerrild.
