ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan distance runner Alice Hill was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 5 team for men's track and field/cross country, the organization announced Thursday (May 26).
Hill now becomes eligible for inclusion on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team for track and field/cross country. Each of the Academic All-District honorees are entered onto the ballot for first-, second- and third-team awards to be announced on June 21.
Hill earned Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors in each of the last two years.
A graduate student from Ann Arbor, Mich., who graduated this spring with a master's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology, Hill has been an All-American both in the classroom and on the track during her career, having twice earned Academic All-America honors and three times claiming All-America honors in the distance medley relay.
Hill was honored at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships with the NCAA Elite 90 Award, given to the participant with the highest cumulative grade-point average. In 2021, she was also named the University of Michigan's female recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor, the highest individual award that the conference offers.
In 2022, she ran a leg of the winning distance medley relay at the Big Ten Indoor Championships -- her second career title in that event, in which she also partially owns the Big Ten record -- and scored for the Wolverines at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the steeplechase.
