ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Five individuals from the University of Michigan women's track and field team will test themselves against the nation's top collegiate athletes with titles and All-America honors at stake at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this Thursday and Saturday (June 9 and 11) inside the confines of the University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
A decorated contingent will represent U-M in Eugene, including multiple-time Big Ten champion and school record-holder Ziyah Holman (400 meters), multiple-time All-American and school record-holder Aurora Rynda (800 meters), school record-holder Corinne Jemison (discus), and Big Ten silver medalists Aasia Laurencin (100-meter hurdles) and Kayla Windemuller (3,000-meter steeplechase).
Thursday's (June 9) schedule for the Wolverines will see all but Jemison in their respective semifinals contending for berths to Saturday's finals. The qualifying action begins for Michigan at 6:02 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, with final-round competition on Saturday beginning as early as 2:54 p.m., depending on who qualifies. The start of the discus at 2:05 p.m. will precede any track finals on Saturday.
The top-eight finishers in Saturday's finals will score team points for their respective schools and be recognized as first team All-Americans, with finishers nine through 16 earning second team All-America honors. The remaining finishers earn honorable mention status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, but are not considered All-Americans.
Both days of competition will be televised live -- Thursday on ESPNU and Saturday on ESPN2 -- and streamed live on ESPN.com. Live results will be provided through Flash Results. Updates will be posted to the official Michigan track and field social media channels throughout the day.
